Grill’d Darlinghurst
I first noticed Grill’d a few weeks back when visiting MadMex as the two places are located right next door to each other. Before that I had not ever even heard of the place. Turned out we in fact had a 2-for-1 voucher for this burger restaurant which we then decided to use last Friday.
We often like to have something quick and informal on Friday nights and Grill’d is a perfect spot for such an occasion. The place has somewhat of a pub-like atmosphere and service is almost too friendly and easy-going everyone saying hello and wishing ‘a good one’ when you leave. They’re quick as well.
The burgers, however, were a bit… dry. We both had the Bombay Bliss, so I don’t know if the other burgers would’ve been slightly saucier but these ones were definitely lacking some moisture. I am all up for healthier burgers but I also know that healthy doesn’t have to mean dry, not at all. I would’ve also liked to have just plain chips as the regular chips at this place actually have rosemary on them. I personally don’t like rosemary and as such would probably not have ordered the chips at all had there been a mention of the herb on the menu.
So although I like the style of the place and their emphasis on quality ingredients and nutritional goodness I don’t think I’ll be going to Grill’d again. I’d rather go to Burgerfuel in Kings Cross.
